• Some stations require a subscription but there are many free movie channels that plays the same movies as cable. Myself, I dropped cable because it had gotten too expensive. I signed up with Sling TV and subscribed to Netflix. My bill is under $80 and I have excess to more movies than I can watch.

• Hi retired, answer is yes and no. Theres program's like hulu TV, sling ,YouTube tv and more that show cable channels. Keep in mind its a new way to watch tv and wont be as easy peasy as using your cable box remote. Not all channels available either.

• To be able to watch cable channels on Amazon Fire Stick you still need a cable subscription.
