• Yes it can be hooked to an HDMI switch. I use a switch to hook both my dvd player and the Fire stick to my only open HDMI port.

• My Fire Stick is connected by HDMI. Put the TV source on the HDMI that the Fire Stick is connected to.

• You can access it through either one ,a direct HDMI or on a switch .

• I did this and it is working fine. You still need to use a power source to the usb connection.
