The difference is the size of the memory available for your apps. If you have Alexa purchase the 4k version.

The 39.00 version does not have a very big memory I would suggest you add the 11.00 dollars to the 39.00 and purchase the 4k firrestick and remote. Btw the remote control is married to the firrestick. Do not loose the remote do not try to use another firrestick remote from another part of the house . It will not work . If you take the firrestick on say vacation be sure to bring the remote control to. For it is useless without the remote.
