• The remote "talks" to the stick via radio signal, so no problems there. And yes, you can setup the remote to control any TV via IR.

• Yes the remote will respond it communicates by bluetooth to dongle. It foes sync with tv automatically did on my old 2005 phillips tv and it does so by IR.
