QuestionWhat is the difference between a Kindle Oasis and a Kindle Fire?

- Answer The Oasis is strictly an E-Reader,the kindle fire is more of a tablet. You can also listen to audiobooks on oasis It also has access to the kindle store. You can touch the screen or use the buttons on the side to turn the pages however it doesn’t have the page curl function like the kindle fire does. With the fire it does have an apps store for games and such. Look wise I do like the feel of the oasis. It is smaller. My only 2 complains about the oasis is the page curl and the oasis is not in color. I just like being able the see the book covers in color. Hope that helped

- Answer Hello Rt52, here are a few of the differences. The Oasis has 25 LEDs vs the Paperwhite having only 5, for better lighting and more adjustments to the brightness and warmth of the light. It also has a sensor to adjust the light automatically depending on the environment. The Oasis will also auto rotate the screen depending on which orientation you are holding it in. Finally, there are physical buttons on the device for page turning. Hope that helps you out.

QuestionI noticed Amazon is offering the Oasis either with or without ads, the latter being more expensive. What's the story with this one you are selling? Will I have to see ads when reading a PDF file?

- Answer This is the ad supported version. The ads are on the lock screen. After purchase, you can pay Amazon to have them removed. I believe it's about $15-$20.

- Answer Can't answer that one...extended warranties are nothing but Insurance policies...I bet buying a quality product offsets the cost of the additional protection...like everything else,it pays if a problem airises....otherwise, a waste of money in my book...I 'll take my chances!!

- Answer Both are 300 ppi devices so there's no increased sharpness of the text if they are set at the same physical size. Think of the extra inch as extra room to fit more text. It's like comparing a 600 sq ft room vs a 700 sq ft room. If you fill both rooms with the same exact sized furniture, there's room left in the 700 sq ft room to add more things.

QuestionWhich is better on the eyes - the paperwhite or the oasis?

- Answer I’ve owned both models and find both to be easy on the eyes as both are adjustable regarding font size and brightness. However the Oasis now offers more adjustment possibilities than the Paperwhite as it offers both warm and cool light options. (The Paperwhite offers only cool light settings.). I’ve had numerous eye surgeries and bright lights irritate my eyes. The Kindles do not so I can once again enjoy a good read before bedtime!

- Answer Hello Jeannie, you will need wifi to download your books that you want to read. Once they are downloaded onto the Kindle, you will no longer need to be connected to wifi. Anytime you want to download a new book or update the software you will need to connect to wifi. Hope that helps, have a great day!

- Answer Hello, Joe! If the device comes with ads on the lock screen, you can get them removed. Here are the steps on how to do that: Remove Special Offers from Your Device 1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices. 2. Select Devices, and then select your device. 3. Under Special Offers, click Remove offers. A pop-up window then displays the price to remove special offers. - Answer The screen can be viewed in bright daylight without glare. Under direct sunlight it looks like printed paper. It’s really comfortable for the eyes. Even at night. I don’t know about it being worth over the paperwhite but for someone who reads a lot of non illustrated novels the lack of colors isn’t issue.

- Answer This one is with ads but you can contact the manufacturer and have them remove them for a fee of like $20. Honestly they don’t bother me. They are like a screensaver. When I’m reading or shopping, they don’t pop up.

- Answer Hi there, The Kindle Oasis (2019) version is the best version of the E-Reader that Amazon makes, and this is the newest version of this specific model as well. This specific model does not have cellular, and only runs off of Wi-Fi, it has a front lit screen with a white light, as well as an amber light, and is 7" and waterproof. Navigate to your library, if it isn't open to that already. 3. Press down on the cover of the book that you'd like to delete. 4. This will open a pop-up menu. Tap "Remove from Device."
