Hello there! You download books right from your Kindle device as well as books from the library. The Kindle is compatible with a number of different eBook formats and does work with a number of different library book services such as Libby. In most cases, you will be able to take out the digital copy of a book using your library's eBook service and then there would be a "Send to Kindle" option for it. At that point you would be able to send it to your Kindle for the allotted time that you have it taken out for. Your best course of action to take to ensure that your library offers that service is to consult your local library's librarian. They would be best able to tell you what you would need to do and if they have that service available. You can chose from a dozen languages on the Kindle. As far as setting up your Kindle, follow the directions when you turn on the Kindle for the first time. Thanks so much for your question, and I hope you have a great day!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Downloading books for FREE from your local library is a great option. Local Libraries, college & university libraries, as well as, state wide library interconnecting networks (ask a librarian for assistance) can be an excellent resource for providing digital reading/audio materials in a variety of languages in addition to English. I found it best to ask a librarian for assistance in how to checkout library materials online such as ebooks and e-audiobooks compatible with Amazon Kindle or other digital reading devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can purchase books from the Amazon Kindle store. I don’t know how many books are available in languages other than English. You can purchase books directly from the device. Also books purchased from any device that are logged into your Amazon account will appear in your library.
