I just tested this with a text book and Audible book. It didn't show the text at the same time it was being read, also the sound quality wasn't the greatest - it's better on my iPhone. I wouldn't buy this just for audio books. I've also tried to have it just read text and it doesn't seem to. This may be a book by book feature tied to copywrite agreements. You CAN however download and use the OpenDyslexia font, which is weighted differently with serifs on the bottom of each letter, which supposed to help people with dyslexia track the text better. I don't have dyslexia so I can't tell you if it's helpful.

Syncing titles between multiple devices is available on both borrowed and purchased titles. To experience immersion reading you can use the Audible player in Kindle apps, titles must be purchased. This can be accessed by completing the following steps: -Make sure your Kindle Keyboard is connected to Wi-Fi to get your audiobook. From the main menu, click on Archived Items, and tap the title to begin the download. -You can listen to your book using the Audible full player which will also allow you to control narration speed, switch chapters, and add bookmarks and notes. -Tap the headphones icon to switch to the Audible full player so you can listen to your book without losing your place. -Tap on "Go to Audible Store" from within the Kindle store to shop for more Audible books to read aloud. The highlighting of the words can only be enabled on the following devices that support that feature of Immersion Reading: Kindle App for iOS Kindle App for Android Fire Tablets 2nd Gen and above Hope that helps!
