Both my new Kindles have a back-lit screen (with adjustable brightness) so they don't need a separate light. Brighter light = slightly faster battery use. Some electronics stores take electronic items for recycling, or check for recycling centers near your zip code with your municipality (city, Twp., county). All my Amazon books appeared on my new Kindle when I registered it with Amazon as mine. Copies are still on my 1st Kindle, too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Kindle Fire HDX 7 is a full color backlit screen. It's very bright and needs no additional light. It can be read in the dark. Your content will be transferred to your new device when you log into your Amazon account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure if I understand your question about the light. The kindle fire can easily be read in the dark because the screen lights up like a smartphone, but unlike the older kindle e-readers. My older e-reader had a case with a built in light, but this is not needed with a Kindle Fire. Your books should transfer automatically to any new Kindle as long as you are using the same Amazon account. My books were all added to my new Kindle Fire just by logging into my existing Amazon account. I hope this helps to answer your questions.
