“Does this Wi-Fi range extender have to have an Ethernet cable connected to the router or can I just place this up stairs when the router is downstairs and if so how far can I place the router away from the Wi-Fi range extender?”

• No ethernet cable. It picks up the wifi signal from the main modem and enhances and extends the signal.
