• This is its own router/wifi combo. It doesn't "boost" any wifi, it creates its own. It would be best to buy your own cable modem and this. I'd look at the Arris SB8200 modem.

• Picture it this way. Your charter Internet service is coming into your house at a certain point. Picture that point a sprinkle of water, Buying the new Ubiquity WiFi, is an extension of the hose and now you get to sprinkle water all over your house Hopefully you understood what I’m trying to tell you, LOL It basically helps you cover more of your house so you don’t have any dead spots
