Hi Joe, The overall dimensions for the center opening on this TV console are 17.12 x 14 x 13.5H. The shelf is adjustable, so the height can vary based on which position the shelf is placed in. When placed in the middle setting, each compartment would be approximately 6.5" high. Thanks for your question!
