Yes you can. I have an iPhone 8 with a Spigen thin fit case on and it has no problem with charging through the thin case. I ended up purchasing an extra 3 for the office and throughout the house. Great charger for the money.

It did not work for the 7 plus so I assume it won’t for the 8
