“I am new to this .. If you install it outside like in the picture ... Don't you have to run wire that eventually will hook up to your tv? If so, could it be placed to pass through a sliding glass door without damaging the wire?”

No Not only do you have to run a cable wire to the TV but you also have to run a power wire as this runs off of a powered amplifier so technically you would have two wires that need to go through the wall Unless you have an available outside power outlet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check to see if the house was wired for cable. If installed, just hook-up the antenna to the coupler that previously ran to the telephone pole. This way you will have an outlet in every room that was wired.
