Yes. That is what it is designed to do. We have five in our house. No more mystery reboots due to dirty power and short term outages.

The UPS stands for uninterrupted power supply which means it will continuously provide power as long as the power supply to your modem is plugged into one of the plugs marked as back up. Only half the plugs on the unit provide backup power. So if it has 6 total plugs only 3 will have backup capability.

Please try again later.I have 2 of these one on my satellite tv receiver and the other on the cable modem and have had no problems with brief power outages lasting no longer than 10 minutes. The UPS replacement batteries are a bit expensive and for the difference in price, I'd purchase a new APC UPS rather than hot swapping the battery.

At half load (128.5 watts) this unit give you around 9 minutes of runtime. At full load (257 watts) the unit draw around 2 minutes. It is likely that your modem pulls less power so you will likely get more runtime.
