I had been looking at UPS at several locations and found this one at Best Buy at a price I didn't want to pass. Works great for providing backup power to a NAS, wifi router, cable modem, and a cloud hard drive. One thing I wasn't aware of until I was setting it up, is that only one side of the outlets are backed up but all are surge protected. Also, I have a laser printer, not plugged into this device, but on the same circuit in the house, and every time we print something the UPS will beep. Kind of annoying at first but not after realizing what was causing the beep. Glad I brought the product and that I got a great deal from Best Buy.

I was looking for a battery backup/surge protection product and came across this one on BestBuy.com. In my area of NY we have a lot of issues with the power in our neighborhood. The very first day I connected it and turned it on we had a power outage and this saved me big time. I was in the middle of completing a very important report and when the power went out the device kicked in and gave me enough time not only to save my files and shutdown the correct way, but I was actually able to finish my report :) I don't have anything bad to say about this product. Go get one!

This is a Superb product for anyone looking to protect their home network equipment such as DSL or cable modems, And Wi-Fi routers. I lost my cisco router due to electrical thunderstorm surges in January this year. Pleased to say my equipment is safe and still running fine used with this UPS. Another excellent feature is the Ethernet cable filtering (Cat6e) ports built in. Keeps the network port on your PC or laptop from getting fried too! I have been using APC products for 25 years and they are the Rolls Royce of the UPS industry. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! A++++.

I have about seven of these units on my workstations. I always get the same one because they are very reliable. The one I bought recently replaced one that was 5 years old and had worked flawlessly providing 24-hour power to my router and phone network. (Tip: keep your receipt in a zip-loc baggie taped to the UPS). I suppose I could have tried to get a replacement battery but after 5 years I just get a complete new one. Would hightly recommend this unit.

Bought this to replace a previous model of APC UPS which is no longer made. Does the job of providing battery backup and surge protection. Keep in mind that the lead acid battery in every battery backup unit will eventually fail, at which point you have the choice of buying a replacement battery or replacing the whole unit. Another thing to remember: even without the battery, the surge suppression outlets still function.

I figured the power\wattage use my devices would need and plugged the most important ones in the UPS plugs and plugged the rest into the Surge Protection plugs. I purposely removed power to the UPS and NONE of my equipment even noticed it!- One suggestion- Plug the UPS in and let it charge for 16 hours BEFORE putting it into service! This device has been well worth the money!

I have been using the APC surge protector for more than 5years (at home and office). And when the power issues begins it is always working and protecting all my electronics. I even use one of these at my Bedside table for my iPhone and my personal gadgets. I have not replace the battery on the first one I bought so you can rely on them.

I use several of these on my various electronic devices (TV's, receivers, computers, routers, etc)..I do have to replace them every so often. These are nice for surge protection and a few minutes of battery backup when the power goes out. The backup battery can be replaced by an one found at Fleet Farm or a similar hardware store.

I purchased this for the battery backup capability for an Xbox One and then surge support for a network switch, A/V receiver and U-verse box. I've had much better luck with APC than other brands but with everything on the surge side only, the unit beeps whenever I turn on the A/V receiver. It recovers after a few seconds but I didn't expect the surge side of things to be a problem.

I had a tower APC unit batteries needing replacement. For 2 batteries it would cost over $80.00. This unit meets my needs and cost less than $50.00 on sale. Waiting to hear the load beep others complained about. Might change my mind on the 5 star if it wakes me up at night.

This back up has plenty of outlets for my needs. And powers my devices for plenty of time to shutdown if needed. My computer does not shutdown when the power blinks anymore.

the power grid where I live has a tendency for several short outages during storms which of course takes out the cable modem, which then takes out internet and phone service. Our laptops can run for a while on batteries but without the modem no real point other than self contained programs. Since I purchased this unit we have been able to keep surfing with no issues or interruptions when the outages are under 90 minutes or so and the cable company standby power holds up too. Very straightforward unit for powering the modem, easy to hook up and forget about it until needed.

I live in the country where momentary power outages are a common occurrence. Almost once a week I can count on the power going out for a few seconds. Since using this device I have not had to restart my system once in the last 4 months. I have never totally shutdown the power to see just how long it will last. My goal was to have a system that would ride through a few seconds of an outage, anything longer and I would power down manually. This mission has been accomplished. Running an apple mac-mini with a Sony PS3 monitor and external 3TB hard drive. Best 50 bucks I've spent in a long time.

This is my second device like this. I purchased one before for home use and it works excellent. The second one works just as great. With the items I have plugged into the battery side, I actually did get over 1 hour of battery use. The one issue I have with these UPS is that the so many of the ports are so close together. This device was made with the thought of regular plugs going into it. That would be fine, but I use products that have adapters--big adapters. The close spacing means that one adapter will cover a slot, thus giving me less slots to use. Sure, there is one port on both sides that are far from the other ports, but this is just one port for the Surge and one for the Battery sides. If they more evenly spaced the ports, this device could be more versatile.
