Also note that when used with macOS, it detects the UPS when the USB cable is connected, and displays the power mode and charge percent directly on the top menu and in the power preferences pane

Yes it does, I have it attached to a desktop computer with the PowerChute software running. The device does have a USB port and comes the the necessary USB data cable.

Confusion? APC website suggests that this model does have PowerChute. If you zoom into these photos I can see the PowerChute cord outlet clearly. I am not saying that it does or does not but I recommend verifying before you buy it.

Thank you for your inquiry.  Yes PowerChute Personal Edition will work on with the system.  However please note PowerChute Personal Edition can only be ran on Windows systems.
