Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately we don't recommend using extensions cords with our UPS. We recommend plugging the UPS directly into the wall outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The National Electrical Code allows 14 gauge wire attached to a 15 amp circuit breaker to feed wall outlets. In some older houses, you are already using the equivalent of a 14 gauge extension cord from the circuit breaker to the wall outlet. Six more feet of wire rated to carry 12 amps continuously will not hurt a trickle charger, which is what this device uses to keep its battery charged.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Vincenzo - APC may not honor their protection warranty if the device is not plugged directly into a wall outlet. Will an extension work, sure. Shorter is better than a long extension, but only you can decide your level of safety and risk.
