“I can't figure out how to have the alarm sound when the AC power is off. All it does is the green light flashes 2 times. I tried playing around with the power button but didn't help. Went thru the instruction manual and couldn't figure out how to toggle”

We had the exact same problem and I noted this in my review.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When I powered up the apc battery back up the alarm went off. The alarm should make a sound when the power goes out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize if the instructions in the manual were not clear. You will first hold in the power button until you hear 3 beeps. Let go of the button and the power button led should cycle from red and green. You will then press the power button again to cycle through the different options. Press the button and then release to see the power button change color. Once you see a flashing amber led, the unit is now in full alarm mode.
