Shouldn't be a problem. The batteries are sealed. Just make any air vents have enough of a gap to breath.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ventilation ports on the side should not be obstructed and the heat exhaust ports are on the top of the unit to provide proper air flow to dissipate heat. APC has other units with a low profile that may help in your situation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You probably should not because it would cover up some of the cooling vents and potentially cause the unit to overheat. I have an APC 1500 Back-UPS XS 1500 and it has cooling vents on the top and sides and I stand it vertically with 4 inches of space on either side and 6 inches of space on top and have had no problems with it at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No I would not recommend using the way you described.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. Operating this unit on its side for an extended amount of time is not recommended. This UPS has not been tested to be used in that setup and running this unit in a way that is not recommended can result in the factory warranty being voided. We suggest using this unit as a tower only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The battery is a sealed lead acid type, so theoretically orientation should* not matter, as with all things of this nature your mileage might vary. There are units available which are designed with horizontal mounting in mind, so you do have options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not check the manual but I would be very careful because it has a battery inside and all batteries have acid in them. Even if the top is sealed completely on the battery I would worry that over time it could develop a leak. Best case would be to contact the manufacturer and ask this question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Should be no problem as long as you don't cover any fans or vent holes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I have laid them on the side and it worked fine.
