Thank you for your inquiry. PFC power supplies will work successfully for this unit, unless it is clearly stated in the documentation that your specific PFC requires a UPS that has a pure sine wave. If that requirement is not there than you will just have to oversize the power draw of the PFC by 1.5 (400W becomes 600W) in order to compensate for the PFC being run on a Back Ups. The XS 1500 has a maximum wattage of 865W and we do not suggest utilizing more than an 80% load (692W in this case) so that our users do not come close to overloading the UPS.
