• Yes you can and it's best you do it yourself. Best Buy doesn't carry the best ram and Apple charges a arm and a leg. Takes 5 minutes to do hardest part is choosing the correct ram and opening the package but a quick internet search will help you with that! Good luck

• Yes, You should be able to have at least 32 GB, Some models can be upgraded to 64GB

• Yes, the 27" 5K iMac RAM can be upgraded after purchase (Not Sure about 2017 Model). The 21" 4K cannot. I believe the max you can put in is 32GB.

• RAM can and should be added - eventually. If you use graphics or gaming then plan on adding it soon. It's cheaper to order RAM online and install it yourself.
