“Why is the 2019 Mini more expensive than the larger models. I’m looking at the 256 model”

This question is for: Apple - 7.9-Inch iPad mini (5th Generation) with Wi-Fi - 256GB - Silver

In reference to the 7th gen iPad, it’s a processor difference, the mini actually sports a faster more advanced processor than the 7th gen iPad.

the base model 10.2 ipad has an older processor, older interior components and a less quality looking display which means its cheaper. the ipad mini has a new processor, sharper screen and newer internals.

Faster processor and Pencil support are the main reasons.

The mini has a better screen and faster chipset than the regular iPad. Its a smaller version of the iPad Air.
