I think you can order it online at the apple store, or chat with an agent and they will let you know if you can go and buy it at best buy (they are certified “apple stores”) but they have limitations. My husband had to replace one of his airpods and he had to go to an apple store to get a new one.

Or go online to The Apple website and chat with someone in the support section of the website. They are extremely helpful to these issues. I’m sure you either can send one in or both and get them replaced. Granted you may get a refurbished replacement, it’s from Apple so they should be fine. Hopefully getting it straightened out locally in Best Buy is much easier for you. Again these are replaceable in the first year of purchase after that you will have to pay for a new AirPod and the website will be the only option to get one. Good luck.
