A gas-powered leaf blower was used within 5 feet of me and it was pretty well muffled. No irritating sound got through. I could have easily listened to music, but wanted to be able to answer questions. It's not as silent as 3M Workforce headsets, but those are passive, clamp-around-the-ear muffs. AirPods are a lot easier on the head and can be used anywhere.

But they aren’t cheap, so I’d be more worried that they might fall out accidentally and get lost in the yard or worse, end up under your mower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not go with this item for mowing or yard work. The dr. Dre beats Powerbeats are what I use for the out door activities you are describing. Not the Powerbeats pro but the regular Powerbeats with the wire connecting them. I currently own both and the power beats have an arm that goes around your ear. The air pods pro model as it does stay in your ear better than AirPods gen 1 still have a tendency to slip from the sweat accumulation during strenuous activity. So no to answer your original question.
