“I purchased the AirPods from Best Buy. I know it comes with a one year warranty, but to get an extended warranty do you have to go through apple or can you purchase it through Best Buy?”

Apple doesn't give you the ability to purchase a warranty through them. I called and asked them the same question. I wanted to get AppleCare on mine and they don't offer it unfortunately. Might want to try Best Buy but I wasn't offered any when I bought mine through Best Buy. Good luck!

Please try again later.Typically if you purchase the warranty through BEST BUY they will replace in the store while APPLE you will have to mail in and in most cases get the next set coming off the refurb line which likely isn't the same set you sent in. This is the same way they handle their phones thus the reason i don't purchase their insurance. It's bad enough to get your own back but to get who knows what has had who knows what done to it can turn into a you know what mess.
