“When programming ear buds, do you have to program both buds to your phone or does it program automatically both after programming one? Also, can you program to any type of phone?”

The AirPods: ear buds automatically program in the case. The case will show which ear bud is or isn’t charged. Depending what I’m doing I use one ear at a time to prevent not having nothing when charge dies down.

If you choose to wear one AirPod at a time, it will connect to only the one outside of the case—but will automatically connect to the second if you choose you want to use both again. I’m pretty sure they connect to any phone/device that has Bluetooth capabilities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You set it up, you set it up with the case which connects to your phone. As far as I am aware, any bluetooth device can connect to it. I use it with my Pixel phone, Pixelbook, iPad Pro, and Samsung TV
