• Yes. You just have to go to your find my app and hit items and you should be able to locate whatever your tag is attached to.

• I don’t think it will show under the sofa but you can force it to play a sound and then follow where it’s coming from.

• It uses the built-in map. Unless you have a very large house lot area, it will just show a dot probably on your whole house from the map. But that's where you can use the Find My iPhone app to send a "sound" signal and it will chirp for you to locate it.

• The Find My app on your iPhone helps to locate AirTag down to 1 ft circular area around your device. And you may play sound on AirTag to be able to locate your stuff when you are that much close to it.
