When and How to change a battery null

you can go on apples website and they have instructions on how to take the battery out. you just press down on the back of the tag and turn. very simple. it does have a low battery indicator on the iPhone app

It will notify you and you just twist the top off

Twist the metal cap and insert a new battery

You can't, the device has to be replaced after a certain amount of use.
