• I purchased it through BestBuy and it is unlocked unless you specifically go through a carrier to purchase it.

• BB used to carry the unlocked model. I bought an unlocked model (I am using TMobile) earlier this year in BB… but it looks like now they no longer have it listed as an option. Guess you have to get unlocked models directly from the Apple store
