Each phone has to have its own plan. However if you do not plan on using that phone anymore, you can transfer your service from your old phone to the new phone and keep your number. I suggest doing a screen shot of your current Data Balance if you have a plan has carry over data (add ons) so the chat rep can add back to your phone the right amount of data.
