I have used gift cards to buy phones in the past with Best Buy. I have Verizon.

Not sure. I had upgrade credits wit Verizon. But when i upgraded thru Best Buy. My points(credits) were not used. So I still have those credits unused. Im not sure if gift cards are the same.
