Q: Is the Xs that much better than the X and worth the change for the money spent.
A: The simple answer to the question is if you already have the X then it is not worth getting the XS unless you just want to have the latest technology. However if you want a bigger screen then it is a worthwhile upgrade to get the XS Max. Main differences in the X compared to XS -Faster processor -Better camera -Louder speakers -Slightly faster Face ID -30 minutes more battery life -Available in Gold If you are coming from any phone other than the X, then it is definitely worth getting the XS, or the XS Max if you want the biggest screen. If you already have the X and don't wan't a bigger screen I would save your money and get an Apple Watch Series 4 instead.
A: No, the phone in this listing is not unlocked. It can be used with Verizon or AT&T. In order to get a completely unlocked iPhone you can use with any carrier, you need to purchase it directly from Apple.
A: Yes you can. I didn't want to trade in my old phone, am not in a contract with my carrier, and didn't want to be in one or pay it out monthly. I don't think any reputable stores sell an unlocked version online. Have to buy in store. I bought my new iPhone XS - 64gb UNLOCKED -- and without activation on 12/31/18 from Best Buy in Allen Tx. Paid same price as full price unlocked that Apple Store charges --- and which is actually equal to the same price as you pay to most carriers through their monthly plans.
Q: In your personal experience, is the battery able to last you a full day of use?
A: I use this phone a lot and at the end of the day my battery is at 40%
A: The screen size as the XR will be bigger than the XS unless you go with the max. There's also the 3D Touch for all the shortcuts into apps and previewing notifications on the home screen, although the XR has a haptic tough that is similar but not as fully integrated. The camera doesn't have the 2nd lens which is mostly useful for the 2x optical zoom. The screen on the XS is OLED where the XR is LED, although the LED on the XR is great its still not the quality of OLED you'll get on the XS. A plus for the XR is it gets the best battery life out of XS and XS max probably due to it running LED and not OLED screen. So if battery life is most important to you I'd go with the XR, I chose the XS max because I wanted all the top of line features and size.
Q: can I buy it outright and add it to my carrier
A: Yes however it will get locked to your carrier once you put in the sim card
A: No, this model is not unlocked.
A: I have used gift cards to buy phones in the past with Best Buy. I have Verizon.
