How is the S Max different from iPhone 8 Plus null

Bigger screen real estate, Face ID 2.0, A12 Bionic chip, faster processor, faster LTE bands, better camera, better battery life up to an hour and a half.

Actual screen size is bigger which is the most obvious difference. Face ID versus fingerprint scanner. Full screen versus bezel. Faster processor. 4gb ram. Better camera. Those are off of the top of my head. You can go to Apple website and get more detailed specs to compare

Besides tech specs (which are all super improvements), the S Max is the same body as the iPhone 8 Plus but the OLED screen (compared to LCD on the Plus) is edge-to-edge creating for a 6.5" display versus 5.5" for the Plus. Also, the Plus unlocks with Touch ID while the Max has the new Face ID.
