Could be how the Rebel stores the images on the SD card, IE folder.

If both devices are current and you’re still getting the issue, I would troubleshoot the issue stemming from the cable. Maybe, purchase another one and see if it works. Outside of that, maybe just settings within your devices got changed somehow?
