You can’t upgrade the internal storage as it is soldered. The only option is to special order a mini with more storage and pay Apple’s high premium. You can obviously add fast external storage cost-effectively, however I ran in to an unexpected snag when trying to migrate a TM backup of my old User dir from a dead MacBook Pro to my new mini with only 250 gb SSD internal and 1 TB external storage. The migration utility wants any Users dir to go to the internal drive and it is an all or none migration. My old User dir is about 300 gb so it was no go. Maybe a Users dir could be recreated on the external drive and then the internal Users could be a link?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 2 external hard drives added to mine. One 500GB for backup and one 1TB for additional storage. Works very well. Simply plug in to a USB port and wait for the Mac to recognize it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you should order such configuration in Apple. I have not seen any options here to upgrade HDD. May be we have to wait for a while?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, an additional hard drive cannot be installed on this unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can add storage via an *external* hard drive; The built in Thunderbolt ports are extremely fast and well suited to the task. You cannot add or upgrade the internal hard drive however. It is worth noting that the Thunderbolt ports are one of the real exciting upgrades, via those ports you can add storage, accelerated video cards, 4k or 5k monitors... all kinds of peripherals.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it's not possible. The flash storage chips are soldered to the logic board. You'll have to purchase the size you need from the start. If you don't have an option for your needs, then you could use an external Thunderbolt drive for additional storage for files (not applications).
