You need extra cable in order to connect to monitor or TV. You can find easily "mini to VGA" for monitor or "mini to HDMI" for TV (it means it doesn't have HDMI output). You also need to buy external CD drive. Although Apple CD drive is very expensive, but you can find 3rd party drive with lower price like as LG. You can upgrade MacOS, but I doubt for hardware (RAM and SSD).
