• Officially, it came out in mid-2017, so Apple considers this the 2017 model. I will caution that the 2017 model was an ever-so-slight update from the 2015 model before it, meaning it's basically a 2015 model. The only change was the processor got bumped up from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz.
