The $949.99 MacBook does not have True Tone.

Please try again later.the first picture you included is the latest model, it was released this july. the second picture is last year’s model released back in november i believe. both have similar specs, and an almost identical appearance. i bought the 2018 macbook air last month and so far really like it. i got it for $900 here on best buy but a day later it was $850 and sold out. best buy seems to change their sales a lot, so you might be able to get it a little cheaper. i hope i could answer your question!
