“why is this so much better then the old mackbook air”

• In my opinion it is better than the previous MacBook Air, it is lighter and seems to be faster. I bought mine to replace a 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and so far I am very happy with it.

• Processor changes, and overall design changes make it better to a degree. But 'better' is all relative. If you can live with the transition to USB-C and the keyboard, then it's a great fit. However, if you have a lot of older peripherals. The older MacBook Air is probably a better fit.

• Well it has better inner functions and touch id but the biggest game changer is the new retina display, which the old macbook air lacked
