“Is it worth upgrading to 512 go from 256 gb storage on m2 air? Mainly will be used for school work and a little bit of gaming”

Absolutely it is! Apple is using a different supplier for the 256GB SSD and that drive is much slower so it drags down overall system performance. You’ll likely have the computer for many years so having the extra speed will really make a difference. And you may really appreciate having the extra storage capacity in the future too!

Absolutely. Not only do you get 2x storage, it is also much faster than the base model which is hobbled by an SSD controller than runs at half the speed of the 512GB version. That said, if you need to save the $s most people won't notice the slower SSD (since all SSDs are still very fast compared to any spinning disk HD).

Not sure why you'd need extra storage considering how everything is Cloud based in 2023.
