This depends on your device capabilities. A lot of older devices only have picture output for their dvi connection while somewhat more recent devices have both picture & audio capabilities through dvi connection. So research your device and know if it’s worth it for you so you aren’t let down.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on your Mac. DVI is relegated to video transmission, unless the source hardware supports HDMI audio, yet lacks an obvious port. Double entendre. My gut leads me to say the existence of a DVI port permits 3 viable options. Dongle adapter to HDMI out. Chromecast, Firestick, et al. Or, if meanss are a concern, with respect to Mac and TV, use that DVI cable and outboard from the 3.5mm audio out (headphones) to a sterio Left Channel/Right Channel cable. $5.00 item. Respond with the model of the Mac and doubtless a community member or myself will produce an answer with precision and budget in mind. Screen dupplication can be taxing to the hardware, bog down the OS. Sheesh. The TV model is the other side of the coin and then some.
