• Yes. That is the reason why I bought it so that I can stream AMC + from my IPhone. But if you buy it, you can download your apps from the Apple TV

• My Apple TV is hooked up to my Hisense H8G. So, the answer would be a resounding, Yes! Your iPhone would be connecting to your Apple TV. Your Samsung TV would just be the display for that connection. Hope that helps!
