It only has an HDMI out. If your TV does not support this, it will not work.

Please try again later.*I've not had the ability to test this, as I do not have an Apple TV* HDMI-to-Componant-Video cables to exist, I would presume that one could use such a cable to connect an Apple TV (or any other HDMI equipped device) to a TV or reciever equipped with component video. It seems like it would be a shame to have to spend a bunch of money on a new TV to be able to use a $99 Apple TV.

Please try again later.you'd prolly be better off upgrading your tv first... the new apple tv only has an hdmi output port so if your tv does not have an hdmi port it is not compatible. there are some major differences between the first and second generation apple tv's. you would be able to connect the first gen apple tv to your tv but check to make sure it does everything you want.
