Not unless you do not have a wireless router.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No they do not, but they have to be on the same wired or wireless network. Apple TV plugs into your TV via HDMI and you can stream from any computer on your network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your tv and laptop don't have to be in the same room, but you will need to either hardwire the Apple TV using a cable, or you will need a wireless router to connect to the internet as well as your computer. In order to access iTunes content, you will need to keep iTunes open on your computer and have sharing enabled. If you close iTunes, you will still be able to access the other services, it just won't be able to see your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the computer and the TV set do not have to be in the same room. Mine aren't. They do, however, need to be hooked up to the same wi-fi network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no, you just have to be on the same network. The apple tv gets hard wired into your router but you lap top just needs to be on the same network via wifi. Will work also if laptop is hard wired connected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. They only need to be connected to the same network. Wireless or wired works the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your Laptop can be anywhere in the network, does not need to be in the same room. Technically your TV can be in another room, but you'd need a very long HDMI cable to get it there, and you would need to use the Remote App on your phone or iPad to control the device if you are not within range/view of the device with the included remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a laptop to run an Apple TV, however you will need a wifi network. Most routers have about a 500 ft rang and if you are asking about streaming content from your computer to you TV, it will run over the same wifi network, so no for having to be in the same room. But remember the closer they are together the less you will have to getting up to chang and the closer to the router the better
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
