- Answer I don’t believe it’s required. You can still pair with your iPhone, but you can also get the option without cellular for a little less. (The red dot on the knob means it’s a phone one.) This option has cellular and 16 gb memory. I think it’s the top of line for Apple Watch right now. I’m still waiting for my delivery..

- Answer Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) delivers cellular connectivity independently of your iPhone but must share the same carrier. You can purchase it directly from Apple or Best Buy, both can activate it on your carrier.
