“How far away can you be before this watch disconnects? On paper, it should have further distance than the series 3 as it is Bluetooth 5.0. Can you walk around the house with it on and have it not disconnect?”

That depends on the size of your house. It can stay connected for a reasonable distance but can also connection to WiFi to maintain some connectivity.
