• No... I get text messages on mine as well as FB messenger messages.

• No I don’t have the cellular option but I can text from my watch. There is a small touch screen for scrawling letters or a voice option for speaking your message. I was surprised to learn you can answer your iPhone with a non cellular Apple Watch 5. As long as your phone is within Bluetooth range. Awesome Apple product!!
