• Yes and what would be quicker probs to go to the website of the software cd that comes with it and just download and install. Goodtimes!

• The presence or absence of a CD drive has nothing to do with this cable. The main function of this kit is to allow one to connect what will be a new internal hard drive to a system for the purpose of cloning one system drive to another, most likely one of a larger capacity. Simply connect this cable to the new drive then plug it into a USB port. Boot the PC and run whatever cloning software you wish - I used the cloning tool of Acronis backup software.
