On all Arcade1Up machines, the coin doors are cosmetic. Some models have lights in them, some act as free-play start buttons, but most, including the one on this unit, are just sheets of plastic.

No, they are a plastic molded cosmetic piece, but they look very real. Add an inexpensive LED light kit and they look awesome. No need for them to function tho because all of the games are "free play".
