- Answer The Arlo Essential XL Cameras do not have internal storage. Currently, the only option to save a video to your iPhone is with an Arlo subscription. The video saved to your iPhone from the Arlo Secure app can stay on your iPhone's storage as long as you choose to. Compatibility with the Essential XL Outdoor Camera and an Arlo Smart Hub (which you can use for local storage) is currently not available but compatibility is planned on a future firmware update.
